Important Information before Beginning the Application Process

Thank you for your interest in the Business Tech Solutions Program. We are pleased to inform you the application will go live on Monday 02 Nov, 2020. 

Before applying, please read through the following information. These notes have been prepared to ensure that you understand the process and have the relevant documents ready and available to upload before beginning the application process. By being fully-prepared, this will ensure that the application process runs in the most efficient and time-effective manner. 

Note there are four subsequent steps in the application process.

  1. Pre-Qualification Questionnaire
  2. Digitalization Survey
  3. Main Application (For information on what needs to be included in the main application, read the application guide +download here)
  4. EFT Authorization Form

Important Notes to Consider

  • If the same person is applying for several entities (several applications) use different (unique) email addresses.
  • Step Two is based on Pre-Qualification Approval (Step One). Upon completing the pre-qualification questionnaire, an analyst will review your submission. Please answer the questions honestly and carefully so that you do not disqualify from the grant program. 
  • If approved, you will receive an email with a link to the following steps. Steps Two through Four can be completely progressively. 
  • Please note, it is likely this email may be sent to your ‘Spam Inbox’. We strongly encourage you to check your spam, and if the email is there, verify the sender so that further emails are sent to the main inbox.
  • Step Two requires the completion of a Digitalization Survey. There will be numerous options for you to choose based on relevancy to your company. While this may appear overwhelming, this is an important step for us to be able to gauge your current level of digitalization.
  • We encourage you to use this Digitalization Survey as a benchmarking tool for your company to assess your digitalization levels.
  • The Main Application will require you to upload information and several documents about your organization and the subsequent digitization project. There are several important tidbits of information and documents required in this step. We ask that you review the following and have the documents ready for the application process before beginning:
    • Business Number
    • CRA, HST # (if applicable)
    • Digitalization Project Plan (if already established in a document)
    • Void Cheque
    • Confirmation from Financial Institution
    • Copy of Articles of Incorporation

The Application Steps Explained 

Step (1) Pre-Qualification Questionnaire

  • The first step will be to complete the pre-qualification questionnaire. It is important that you answer these questions honestly, yet carefully, so that you are not disqualified from the grant program. 
  • If the information submitted in step 1 is approved, you will be sent an email with a link to access steps 2-3.
  • ** Important Note: It is highly likely that these emails may initially go to the ‘spam inbox’. These emails will be critical to be able to access each step and we strongly encourage you to be mindful of this by checking the spam folder and if there, please transfer to the main inbox and verify the user as not being spam. **

Step (2) Digitalization Survey

  • Step 2 will require you to fill out a digitalization survey. In this step, it is required that you choose all applicable options relevant to your company’s current operations. 
  • While the information available may appear overwhelming, this is important for us to gauge your level of digitalization. We want to ensure that we have as much information as possible to have a clear picture on the level in which your organization currently operates. 
  • Please note that we encourage your organization to use this digitalization survey as a benchmark for your current and future digitalization efforts

Step (3) Main Application

  • The main application will focus on general company information and your projected digitalization plan. It will be required in this step for you to input general administrative information and upload several documents.

Step (4) EFT Authorization Form

  • The final step in the application process is the EFT Authorization Form. Please have the following documents to upload: 
    • Void Cheque
    • Confirmation from Financial Institution
    • Copy of Articles of Incorporation
